Maternity Services
The midwifery team attached to the surgery provide care before and after delivery. Antenatal clinics are held by appointment on Monday and Tuesday afternoons at the Batley surgery.
Child Surveillance
The doctors complete the six-week baby check and then the health visitors complete the pre-school health check.
Child Immunisations
The recommended immunisations are given by the immunisation team at Batley Health Centre. Appointments are sent out by the Regional Child Health Centre.
Asthma, Heart Disease And Diabetic Clinics
Our specialist nurses monitor, review and provide help with the management of these conditions.
Health Checks
We encourage patients who may be well but have concerns about their health or lifestyle to request an appointment to see one of our nurses for a health check.
Minor Surgery And Cryotherapy
Cryotherapy is done in routine appointments at Batley with Dr Lawson. Dr Tarrant holds a minor surgery clinic by invitation.
Physiotherapy
The practice works with NHS physiotherapists to provide a service to patients on the premises.
Cervical Smears
We advise all women up to the age of 65 to have a regular cervical smear test performed by the practice nurse (or doctor). A screening recall service operates to send reminders every three to five years.
Family Planning
A full range of services is offered by the practice nurses.
Adult Vaccinations
Flu and pneumococcal injections are provided to “at risk” patients.
Our practice nurses are able to give advice and provide the required travel immunisations.
Termination Of Pregnancy Counselling
This service is provided by Dr Lawson, Dr Scales and Dr Napper.
Smoking Cessation
Our trained nurses will provide advice and support for those who wish to stop smoking.
Non-NHS Examinations and Reports
These are provided by arrangement and for an appropriate fee as recommended by the BMA.
